About

Teaching is my calling, for as long as I can remember I have been a teacher. I have 25 years of teaching experience and I have learnt that teaching and learning are a lifelong process. I have always believed in the power of education, it has the power to change the world. I wanted for children to develop their confidence, self-esteem, sense of self and felt that early childhood was the place to ensure that. I obtained my graduate diploma in Early Childhood Education and first started working as a qualified kaiako. As I learnt and grew as an kaiako (teacher) I realised that I had the vision to create a learning environment for children and families where they felt a sense of belonging, where the centre team was actually like an extended family to children. This vision led me to open my own centre, Little Hands Childcare and Learning Centre in 2016 and then my Otara branch as well.
I have an amazing team of Kaiako (teachers) all dedicated to achieving positive learning outcomes for our tamariki (children) by working together with Whanau (families). Our team of passionate kaiako provide tamariki a warm nurturing environment, encouraging them to learn and develop, as they explore and grow as competent and confident learners through play.
